That’s it. We’re almost finished. There’s only a week to go until Christmas and we’re – ahem – wrapping up for the year.
It’s been a funny year in many ways. News-wise we’ve been dominated by Donald Trump seamlessly jumping from one faux-pas to the next, the Theresa May-inspired Brexit debacle and the #metoo movement.
In sport, Harry Kane and his mates propelled England to the World Cup semi-finals for the first time since 1990 and even won a penalty shootout. Lewis picked up a fifth F1 title, Billy Monger overcame what looked like insurmountable odds to get back behind the wheel of a race car, Geraint Thomas won the Tour De France and with it, Sports Personality of the Year and if you haven’t seen the absolutely incredible footage of the England netball team winning gold at the Commonwealth Games against Australia with literally the last throw of the game, it’s here.
We lost some great people including Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan, flat-pack king Ingvar Kamprad, physicist Professor Stephen Hawking, footballer Ray Wilkins, film director Milos Forman, Barbara and George HW Bush, DJ Avicii, politician Tessa Jowell, Lois Lane alter-ego Margot Kidder, kitchen bad-boy Anthony Bourdain, UN Secretary general Kofi Annan and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
But what about the Koncise year we hear you cry, in unison?
On a graded scale, we sit somewhere between a new and unexpected LinkedIn recommendation and a France World Cup win.

As anyone who’s ever tried doing it will testify, running a business is hard. It’s doubly-hard in the IT space with technology moving at a gazillion miles an hour and in between keeping up with a lightning-quick industry and ensuring our staff, clients, suppliers and associated stakeholders are happy and have everything they need, we were awarded the Mimecast Customer Excellence Partner of the Year.
Being recognised by the company itself is a great boon for us. ‘We’ve always sought to the do the right thing by our clients – both existing and prospective – and we consider ourselves fortunate to work closely with the Mimecast team. Our partnership is deep-rooted with a high level of two-way trust and respect and we look forward to forging even stronger ties with Mimecast in the future.’
We’ve also been hard at work behind the scenes.
We’re writing weekly blogs on what’s important in the world of cloud computing so if there’s anything you want to know more about, all you have to do is ask us on LinkedIn or Twitter and we’ll do our very best.
We’ve also incorporated a raft of new systems that have made our systems and processes far more efficient, including spending far more time than was appropriate getting our heads around GDPR, but we know we’re not the only ones!
So to conclude, 2018 has been a great year for Koncise and we’re hoping 2019 will be even better.
Lastly, we know that without a set of amazing clients who rely on us for their cloud solutions, we’re just a group of chaps in a room surrounded by flashing lights on plastic boxes so we’d like to say thank you for coming with us on this journey and we look forward to doing more for you in 2019.
