This week we attended the annual Mimecast Partner Update and Awards ceremony which, as it has done for the last few years, preceded the CRN Fight Night, and although we weren’t in the ring, we were certainly floored by the events of the evening…!
As well as hearing about key roadmap and company updates from Mimecast’s top guys, it was also an opportunity for them to recognise and celebrate the hard work put in by its Partner Ecosystem to help support the huge successes they’ve enjoyed in what is an amazingly competitive market.
‘And the award for Mimecast Customer Excellence Partner 2018 goes to…..Koncise Solutions!’
Koncise founder Ben Konopinski said ‘On behalf of the whole team at Koncise HQ I am thrilled to have won this award. it’s particularly pleasing as this is an award voted for by Mimecast’s Customer Experience Team – the team responsible for ensuring clients get the most out of the service and who are ultimately accountable for their overall satisfaction.’
He continued, ‘we’ve always sought to the do the right thing by our clients – both existing and prospective – and we consider ourselves fortunate to work closely with the Mimecast team. Our partnership is deep-rooted with a high level of two-way trust and respect and we look forward to forging even stronger ties with Mimecast in the future.’
Today, as GDPR takes enforceable hold, Mimecast is seeing considerable success. In an increasingly competitive cyber-security market, they’ve continued to innovate and lead the market with their platform.
Email remains the biggest initial attack vector/entry point for cyber-crime and tactics are ever-evolving and increasingly sophisticated. The days of virus signatures and spam are quickly fading away, superseded by malicious URLs and macro-laden attachments containing ransomware and other nasties. That notwithstanding, we’re now seeing a wave of non-malicious text-based emails that use social-engineering tactics to encourage businesses to inadvertently share sensitive data or pay fake invoices.
Mimecast is both an innovator and market leader when it comes to providing protection, but it doesn’t stop there. Discoverability of data, as well as erasure and extraction of data are set to become hot topics over the next 12-18 months as companies seek to streamline processes against Subject Access and Right-To-Be-Forgotten requests. Mimecast’s email (and file) archive allows organisations to quickly search cross-company within their emails, select pertinent data and allow it to either be erased (with a clear audit trail) or shared with the person(s) requesting the data all within a single interface.
